Overview
Social Change's WebMapping Services solution architecture adds the power of integration of multiple GIS and database systems with the Web.
You can:
- Access data from any GIS or database system.
- Search for online sources such as weather maps, traffic data, background maps or satellite images.
- Scan your documents, emails or directories for geographic references and link them to a map.
- Make any data collection geographically searchable using global metadata standards. Find all documents referring to a specific region.
Social Change Online achieves dynamic integration of multiple distributed on-line data sources using the WebMapping Services model.
These services cooperate to create images that visually communicate regional, national or international relationships over the web. Standard, off-the-shelf software components from major vendors and open source communities provide plug-and-play functionality. Our approach allows access to hundreds of millions of dollars worth of digital maps and satellite images that until now have been locked away from the Internet.
If you are a data provider, it allows you to tap into new and larger markets. If you are a data user, you can access masses of data, and the most up-to-date available.
All Social Change Onlines web mapping products are compliant with the new, globally adopted OpenGIS Web Services interface specifications.
