Where does WebMap Composer get installed?
WebMap Composer is an application that gets installed on an "application server". This means it lives at a web site and you only need a browser to access it.
WMC gives you:
- Special access arrangements to your map and data sources. It does not matter where your data server is (Intranet or Web) or what type of Data Server you have (WMS, WFS, etc) as long as the data is Open GIS compliant.
- The ability to access both your own private data and public data.
- The ability to build applications, test and "rehearse" your private or untested map services on your Intranet before you release them to the public through your website.
