Overview

Social Change Online creates enabling technologies to allow large scale community sharing of information and services using Internet technologies. We have been at the forefront of Web Mapping and metadata usage standards and implementation for many years. Our products fulfill our mission to add value to traditional IT, GIS and Web industry with innovative tools designed to empower civil society. Accordingly, our products are "low footprint" and can run on most platforms. We have adopted the industry standard Java Servlet 2.2 specification and can consequently distribute products as single files with inbuilt configuration tools. Our products work against top of the range commercial tools and open source freeware components.

A useful starting point is to understand the basic Webmapping Services Architecture we have pioneered, and now underpins the Global Spatial Data Infrastructure Reference Model. Webmapping Services Model
