"Webmapping technology brings a whole new dimension to health care. By
enabling the integration of health data from a wide variety of sources
people and professionals can now get easy access to information and services
in a way that was never possible before. This is a watershed development
for meeting the health care needs of all Australians."

Requirement
To show the location of social and health services in a
way that would be easily searchable for kids as well as professionals.
A whole of government approach to primary health care integrating the data and services of departments and non-government agencies will greatly improve national health and quality of life.
Solution

As part of the award-winning ReachOut web site, we created
"Who Cares!", combining a geo-referenced help services directory with
street maps to allow a multitude of ways to search for services that
provide help.
This solution seamlessly integrates a mapping application in the
Reachout portal. It accesses a base map from AUSLIG, a street
database from a commercial supplier and the services directories for
national community help agencies, 'Lifeline' and 'Kids Helpline'.
